Glen Olives: A Family-Owned Olive Grove in the Heart of the Northern Tablelands, New South Wales

Nestled in the picturesque Northern Tablelands of New South Wales, just 8 kilometres north of Glen Innes, lies a hidden gem – Glen Olives. This small, family-owned and operated olive grove has been a labour of love, passion, and dedication for over two decades, producing exceptional Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Table Olives that reflect the distinctive character of our cold-climate region.

Our journey began in October 2001, fuelled by a vision to create olive products that would stand out in terms of quality and uniqueness. With the support of our family and friends, we embarked on the challenging task of establishing our olive grove. Over the course of two years, we meticulously planted 700 olive trees dedicated to oil production and an additional 80 trees destined for table olives. It was a humble beginning, and our first small crop was harvested in 2004.

What sets Glen Olives apart is our commitment to sustainability and hands-on farming practices. We firmly believe in the value of manual harvesting and pruning, a labour-intensive process that ensures the utmost care is taken in the cultivation of our olive trees. This dedication has borne fruit, as evidenced by the numerous accolades we have received over the years.

Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil, in particular, has garnered acclaim at prestigious events such as the Sydney Royal Fine Foods Show. We are proud recipients of Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, a testament to the exceptional quality and flavour profile of our olive oil. This recognition has been instrumental in establishing Glen Olives as a trusted name in the industry.

In 2017, we took a significant step forward by introducing our olive processing facility on-site. This decision allowed us to minimize the time between harvest and processing, ensuring that the olives retain their freshness and integrity. As a result, our products reached new heights in terms of flavour and quality.

About Our Products

We grow several varieties of olive trees for oil and for table olives.

Oil Producing Trees:

Leccino Italian variety.  Frost tolerant.  Medium oil percentage
Frantoio Italian variety.  Frost tolerant.  High oil percentage
Pendolino Italian Variety. Frost tolerant. Low oil percentage. Used as pollinator


These varieties also grow in hotter climates but the taste experience is far different.  The oil from our cold climate is much stronger, deeper in colour and the aroma is far superior. Some liken it to the experience of cold country wine.
